The is a new participant in the 160cc two-wheeler market in India. As per a few sources, many claim that the Honda two-wheeler company replaced the Honda X-Blade with the SP160. That said, the Honda India website de-listed the X-Blade from its portfolio.

On the other hand, the is an entry-level offering in the Apache series. It should not be confused with the Apache RTR 160 4V, despite they have an identical name. The engine output is different from each other.

In terms of pricing, the has a starting price of Rs 1.18 lakh, while the Apache RTR 160 has a starting price of Rs 1.19 lakh. All are ex-showroom figures.

Specifications

Before weighing the figures of these two homegrown bikes, let’s start with their underpinnings.

As for the TVS Apache RTR 160, this bike is structured on a double cradle synchro stiff, which is agile and usually used in making the track-focused bike. That said, most , especially the Apache series are made on this type of frame.

In parallel, the Honda SP160 is structured on a diamond frame, which is cost-effective and agile.

On the other hand, the TVS Apache RTR 160 has an ARAI-certified mileage of 61 km/l, but the real-world mileage figure of this bike is rated at 45 km/l. The mentioned real-world mileage is an average figure given by the owners of the Apache RTR 160. Keeping their engine outputs aside, let’s now talk about the suspension setups of these two offerings. The Honda SP160 stands on a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Given the SP160 price, which is similar to the Apache RTR 160, it should have had a better suspension setup.
