Mazda Electric Motor Corporation (Japanese: Hepburn: Matsuda Kabushiki-gaisha), frequently referred to as simply Mazda, is a Japanese multinational car manufacturer based in Fuch?, Aki Area, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
In 2015, Mazda created 1.5 million cars for international sales, most of which (virtually 1 million) were generated in the company’s Japanese plants, with the remainder originating from a selection of other plants worldwide. In 2015, Mazda Motor was the fifteenth biggest car manufacturer by production worldwide.
The name Mazda originated with the manufacturing of the company’s initial three-wheeled vehicles. Other candidates for a design name included Sumera-Go, Tenshi-Go and also a lot more.
The company web site additional notes that the name also derives from the name of the company’s owner, Jujiro Matsuda. The other proposed names imply “god” (Sumera) and “angel” (Tenshi); both suggest Matsuda’s solid interest in human belief.
The Mazda text was used in mix with the corporate emblem of Mitsubishi, mazdarx5.com (https://www.clubmazda.es/foros/threads/precios-y-gama-de-los-mazda-en-enero-de-1987.15929) which was responsible for sales, to produce the Toyo Kogyo three-wheeled vehicle registered trademark.
